The short answer

What we do

All American Garage Door installs new residential garage doors across the Kansas City metro. We measure, help you choose a style, color, window layout and insulation level, haul away the old door, and install the new one, usually in four to six hours. Estimates are free and in writing.

  • Traditional raised-panel steel doors in dozens of colors
  • Carriage-house doors with strap hinges and top windows
  • Modern flush and full-view aluminum glass doors
  • Wood-look insulated steel with no refinishing
  • Polyurethane-insulated doors with higher R-values
  • Single, double, tall and RV doors measured to the inch
  • High-lift conversions for garages with tall ceilings

Signs you need this

  • Several dented, cracked or rusted panels
  • An uninsulated door under a bedroom or on a heated garage
  • Repairs that keep adding up on an old door
  • You're selling or updating the look of the house
  • An odd-sized opening that needs a custom door
Lift options for new doors

High-lift and roof-pitch tracks

A standard track bends back at door height, so the open door hangs low across the garage. If you have more ceiling height, a different track can put that space to use.

High-lift

A high-lift track runs straight up the wall before it curves back, so the open door sits close to the ceiling instead of hanging low over your cars. It frees up room for a car lift, overhead storage or a taller vehicle.

In these photos from a Kansas City home we moved the spring up the wall and installed a LiftMaster 98022 jackshaft opener. It mounts on the wall beside the door and turns the torsion bar directly, so there's no opener rail across the ceiling either.

Roof pitch

In a shop, pole barn or garage with a sloped ceiling, a roof-pitch track angles up to follow the roofline. The open door tucks up under the roof instead of sitting flat, which keeps the middle of the building clear and gives more headroom over the opening.

We measure the opening, headroom, side room and roof slope, then tell you which track fits. Ask about high-lift or roof pitch when you get your estimate.

Questions

Residential installation FAQ

How long does it take to install a new garage door?

Most single and double doors are installed in one visit of about four to six hours, including removal of the old door. Custom doors take a few weeks to arrive from the factory.

What does R-value mean on a garage door?

R-value measures how well the door resists heat flow. Higher numbers insulate better. It matters most if your garage is heated, attached, or has a room above it.

Which garage door brands do you carry?

We install Amarr, Haas, Delden and Doorlink doors, and LiftMaster, Chamberlain and Genie openers.

Should I repair or replace my garage door?

Repair it if the problem is a spring, cable, roller or opener and the panels are in good shape. Consider replacing it if several panels are dented or rusted, the door is uninsulated under a living space, or repairs keep adding up. We'll tell you honestly which makes more sense.

What warranty comes with a new garage door?

New doors carry the manufacturer's warranty, and we match it with our labor warranty, so the installation is covered as long as the door is.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Monthly payment options are available on new doors and openers, subject to credit approval. See the financing page or ask during your estimate.
